The Books Speak for Themselves (almost)
When embarking on something new it can often seem like a daunting endeavor. The climb can seem insurmountable and the steps to complete your journey can be fuzzy and unclear. This is where having support and guidance can be a major asset. When I decided to write a book, I felt all the previous emotions. I had no idea of how I would even start and if I could even successfully put pen to paper and get it done. In came Tim Boswell and instantly I felt that his care and attention to his clients was number one. He not only guided me through the entire writing process, but he also held my feet to the fire and provided me with accountability in order for me to get it done according to a predetermined timetable. As of today, I am proud to say that I am now a published author. I would definitely and whole-heartedly recommend Tim for your writing and coaching needs.

When my publisher told me I’d be working with a “developmental editor” I had no idea what that was. I was admittedly wary because I had written three previous books without one and wondered why I needed one. Then the publisher introduced me to Tim and, after working with him on this project, I bemoaned the fact he hadn’t been around to help me craft the previous books! They would have been far improved.
Tim opened my eyes to what genuine, collaborative book editing is all about. He pored through my draft and carefully, strategically suggested numerous edits, ideas, and changes. He caught grammar errors, but more importantly, he caught errors in my THINKING. He challenged me to think as the reader, not just the writer. The book improved immediately and dramatically.
Tim was forthright but never demanding, articulate but not condescending. And I couldn’t be more thrilled with the end result. This book is the most cogent, most readable, most accessible of my books and it is solely because of Tim’s irreplaceable contributions.

All I can say is wow… I am truly proud and humbled. Tim, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. This process and your guidance has meant so much to me I cannot express it in words. For probably the first time in my life I am speechless. You have made this better than I could have imagined and I want you to know I am beyond honored no matter what happens. I worked with a couple editors before you briefly and I was really lucky to find you. I felt ‘finally, someone on the same page.’ Amazingly enough we have film interest in Los Angeles by a really cool writer/director. Excited for the galleys and the future no matter what!

Dr. Timothy Boswell was my editor on two book projects. As I plan a third book, I cannot imagine the project without Dr. Boswell. He is an outstanding writer and listens well, assuring the vision of the author is accomplished. Dr. Boswell has a servant’s heart and is a team player. I call him a friend as well as a co-worker. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Timothy Boswell as a writer and editor.

About your guide
When he was a kid, Timmy Boswell played with toy dinosaurs, He-Man, and G.I. Joes like the other boys—except his play involved writing out elaborate stories about their adventures. This love of words later carried him through a bachelor’s in writing through interdisciplinary studies (magna cum laude), a master’s in creative writing (4.0 GPA), and a Ph.D. in creative writing (with distinction).
Going by Tim now—or Dr. Boswell to some—he works full-time as the managing editor for the international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal Studies in the Novel, and he previously worked as managing editor for American Literary Review. He has taught 16 sections of university-level writing courses, teaches writing privately, and has collaborated with authors on over two dozen published books. He lives in Fort Worth, Texas, with his wife and three sons.
